Kolber, a native of Pennsylvania, received her master's degree at the University of Miami. Kolber's career began as a journalist in New York City as a CBS Sports video coordinator. She was awarded an Sports Emmy for her work on WTVJ-TV Miami. She worked at WPLG-TV, Miami as well as WPEC-TV West Palm Beach.
